Tickets can be ordered in advance online at https://slehscougarcabaret.weebly.com/, tickets can also be bought at the door, $12 per adult, and $6 per child.

The Christmas cabaret is an annual fundraiser for the SLE band and choir program, through the funds raised at the cabaret it helps support the choir and band with all their necessities throughout the school year.

Performances will be everything from the melodic voices of choir students to the lively sounds of the jazz band. The students will perform as soloists and in small ensembles.

Darrel Middaugh, South Lyon East Choir Director said, “The choir program really is about giving the best experience to the kids.”

Renee Sonnett, Student Coordinator of the Cabaret said, “It’s one of my favorite events throughout the year because it’s really fun and informal. You get to hang out with your friends, but you can still listen to live music and still get a chance to perform even if you have stage fright.”

Cabaret is not only for the community, but is also for the students, and giving them an experience that they will always remember.

Sonnett added, “You can expect a lot of live music, which is probably my favorite part, getting to hear everyone perform music they have been working very hard on for months. You can also expect raffles and prizes, a spaghetti dinner, dessert and bake sales, and lots of fun!”

Jennifer Ascher, Choir Council President also pointed out how cabaret is a fun experience that allows students to perform at an extracurricular level to help grow their musical capabilities.

Middaugh comments, “Every year we expect a bigger turn out because of the increase of students in the musical department.”
