In the first quarter the boys came out humming and pumped in seven goals. The offensive unit cautiously slowed down the scoring as the game went on, scoring six in the second, four in the third, and finally two in the fourth. This allowed for a wide variety of  the goals to be spread around the team.

The team railed up a total of 8 assists during the game, from Kovach(3), Harvath(2), and Senior Captain Mitch Tashman, Zac Markham, and the new addition to the team, David Rende, tallying one.

Connor Pergament, Senior Goalie, started the season off right with a shutout, letting none of the River Rats shots in. Pergament was also handed the tremendous hammer that the coaches give out to the most crucial defensive player of the game.

Pergament said, “It feels good to get my first varsity start and pull off a win.”

Makoto Roy, Senior Captain and Defensive Midfielder, also started the season off hot, putting one in the back of the net during the first quarter. Roy was outstanding throughout the game with riding on the clear attempts by the River Rats.

“We could improve on better teamwork all around with the boys, but we did well on making sure we had good sportsmanship,” said Roy after the win.

Coach Alan Stalter, Defensive Coach, had an outstanding show out by his defensive unit on Friday nights game. The team only let a total of four shots throughout the 48 minutes of game time.

Stalter stated, “It was nice to have that large of a crowd on a cold night.”
