This production is based off of the Disney movie, Mary Poppins.

Alyssa Ugo, an actress in this musical, says, “It’s about a nanny who has some special powers and takes care of the children, and they go on magical adventures together.”

“It’s about a nanny named Mary, and she flys out of the sky to take care of two children named, Jane and Michael, and she teaches them how to have fun but in a polite way,”  Lisa Marie Misuraca, who captured the lead as Mary Poppins, adds.

Renee Sonnett who plays Miss Andrews in this musical advises all students to come out to the musical, “It’s a musical for everyone. It’s a Disney musical so it’s kid friendly, but adults are also going to have fun watching it.”

The cast list has been posted and the actors and actresses are filled with excitement for the upcoming season.

Misuraca says, “I’ve never gotten the lead before and I was shocked and filled with joy.”

Sonnett is excited to play the role of an antagonist, “I am excited to have a duet with Mary because it is kinda like their duel. I was one of the main protagonists last year. It’s a complete 360 from what I was last year, so I am excited to test my acting their because I’ve never done it before.”

Students are well on their way as the first required rehearsal for all actors, actress, and technicians was Tuesday, January 16.
