After a gritty defensive win on Homecoming Friday against Milford, South Lyon East Football (6-2) will play host to the South Lyon Lions (also 6-2) on Friday, October 21.  East will come into the game fresh off a win, regaining some of their momentum after their upset loss to Lakeland.  South Lyon on the other hand, is fresh off of a loss to the Kaliebe Osborne-lead Waterford Mott team.

South Lyon East is lead by seniors Jordan Newbill and Jayden LaPerna, while South Lyon is lead by seniors Braden Fracassi and runningback Tommy Donovan.  East is in the midst of their winningest season in school history (first team to notch six regular season wins) and looks to knock off Old, who the Cougars have not beaten at the varsity level in five years.

The game will also be a community pink-out in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The key to the game will be East’s defense going up against Old’s offense.  East has only allowed a team to score more than 21 points against them once this year, and that was against the Conference leading Walled Lake Western.  Old has also failed to score fewer than 31 points only once this year, also to Walled Lake Western.

Pink Out shirts will be sold at lunch on gameday (October 21st) and cost $15.  The Student Section is doing their absolute best to fill the stadium and encourages all families and friends to come support and wear PINK.
