East Athlete Spotlight: Cam Crosby
High school is full of multi-sport athletes, but not many can qualify as a state finalist for their sport. Cam Crosby is one such athlete. He qualified for the Michigan tennis state finals as an individual player this year and admitted that while it “felt really good”, he was disappointed that his teammates couldn’t join him. Despite that, he acknowledges that qualifying for states is a great accomplishment, as he plays Tennis (in his own words) “to win”.
While Tennis is a mainstream sport, it isn’t nearly as popular in the United States as football, basketball, or even baseball. Cam admits that he isn’t a fan of watching tennis, and believes that it’s a sport that’s only fun to play, not particularly fun to watch on TV. Outside of tennis, Cam enjoys playing his other sport, basketball, and hanging out with his friends. He named his dad as his greatest influence.
East Varsity tennis would make it to Regionals, but ultimately fall one point short of advancing to States.
